Catching up with old friends

My day sure started out good.....I got to meet my old friend, Cheryl Hyman, at McDonalds in Van Buren so we could catch up! I haven't seen her in a long time but you never would have known it.....I love that! Cheryl & I have been friends for 10 years. Gosh, that's a long time! I met Cheryl when I went to work for the Collection Department at Superior Bank, before Arvest bought them. I was the receptionist for the department for a while and then became and collector. I learned so much from Cheryl. She was one of the best we had! Anyway, we got to sit and talk for 3 hours this morning while the kids played! It was awesome!!

Here is Hannah and Laurel...they were born 15 days apart. I wasn't sure they would remember each other (we haven't seen each other in a while) but they did and played so wonderfully together!

This is Cheryl and her oldest daughter Aubrey. She is 11 years old. Aubrey was about a year old when she and Cheryl came to my wedding!

Here is Isaac re-hydrating himself....before he developed this high fever and began feeling terrible.

These girls are just too sweet! I am so glad they are friends. :-)

Here they are just chatting it up...before they realized I was taking their picture.

We all had such a good time!
As I was putting Isaac in the car I noticed he felt really warm but thought he might have just gotten really hot playing in the tube things. He still felt hot when we got home so I took his temperature....103.4!!! What?!?!?! I called Dr. Ashcrafts office and they said they wanted to see him so we loaded up and went to the doctor. After checking EVERYTHING they have determined he has a summer virus that will last 24 - 48 hours. He is laying on the couch as I type this watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. My poor baby. I pray he feels better soon. Not a good way to end what started as a wonderful day!

Another Great Lake Day

This past Saturday Jennifer, Me and the kids headed out to meet the Reals, Driggers and Langwells at Lake Tenkiller. Had a blast! Brian had to work in the morning but came up later in the afternoon. We stayed out on the boat all day and then came in about 6pm to start dinner at camp. Below are a bunch of pictures showing our awesome time!
John & Tammy with Hannah and Madison...getting ready to tube.
Melissa....hanging out in the lake.

Grace & Hannah doing more tubing....Hannah wouldn't get off all day! She has become quite the daredevil.

Brian wearing his "diaper"....cracks me up! The guys do this so they can just sit on them and float. Ha!

Cassie has joined Grace & Hannah...and now Hannah isn't holding on!

Look at these girls!

Our little "hood ornament"...he loves to stand at the front of the boat while we fly through the water.

Kim & Tammy

Luke decided to jump off a super tall cliff....I got some pics of him in action.

Here he goes!

The waves moved the boat as I was snapping this picture...oops!

Here is the group hanging out waiting for dinner to be ready......

....while the kids played....

....and played....

....until they were worn out & ready to eat!

We had such a great day....we have a great group of friends and I am so thankful we are remaining in touch, even though we don't go to the same church anymore.

Fun Friday!

This past Friday, we got the awesome opportunity to watch Emily and Caleb for my sweet friend Lisa Medlyn. This is the second time I have watched them and they are just so good! We had a great day! It was a little different having such a little one in the house again. Emily is 5 (beginning Kindergarten in August) and Caleb is 7 months old. Isaac just LOVED being around Caleb. He would get so sad when Caleb would cry....Caleb is teething and so he was a little fussy. Poor fella! His little mouth hurt!

Thank you Lisa for sharing your kiddos with me! Love them much!

Big Week for a Big Boy!

It has been a big week for my big boy! He wore "big boy" underwear for the first time and did good! I mean, it only lasted for about 20 minutes but he was so stinkin' cute in his little undies. :-) It is hard for me to believe he is big enough to potty train but he is, and he is doing pretty well. Here are some pictures of him in his training pants.

He looks so big and tall sitting here!

How can you not just fall in love with this sweet boy? Ugh, my heart melts!

Not only are we trying out big boy undies, we have graduated to our big boy bed! Brian went up in the attic to get it out and found out we didn't have the hardware for it. I contacted the manufacturor and found out that the bed has been discontinued so they no longer had the hardware. However, they were able to email the instruction manuel and it listed the hardware so my wonderful husband went and spent $30 so that we could get Isaac's bed together. He was so excited while Brian was putting it together. He kept yelling "big boy bed! big boy bed!". So funny! Here are some pics of the kids helping Brian put the bed together:

Hannah was much more worried about posing than helping Dad! Ha!

Tada!!! Here is my sweet boy laying on his bed for the first time.

We moved the bed into Isaacs room and left the crib up, just in case. He stayed in there for a long time just sitting on his bed playing. I had to take a picture and then he wanted me to take a picture of Woody. :-)

When bedtime came, I gave Isaac a little milk and we sat in the chair....just like every other night. I began to get a little nervous thinking that Isaac will never just lay in this bed because he actually has the choice whether to stay in or get out. I was wrong!!! I laid him down and he went to sleep within 10 minutes! One proud momma here! I went in to check on him and the following picture is what I found:

Wrong end but he was alseep!! I had a little trouble getting to sleep because I just knew he was going to fall off the bed but finally I dozed off. I was then awakened by Brian getting a shower at 3am....he couldn't sleep so he was showering and going to work. I then decided to go check on Isaac.....he was in the middle of his floor fast asleep! I'm not sure if he fell off his bed or crawled off and went back to sleep but either way, he slept til 5am. I heard a door shut at jumped up to see what was wrong....there Isaac stood in the hallway with this huge smile on his face. Wish I would have gotten a picture of it. He was too cute. I had him come lay down with me and he slept til 6:30. I am hoping that this is how the nights will go....him still sleeping all night.
I just can't believe my monkey is old enough for all of this. Wow, time flies!

Thank you Lord for my kids!
