Janet Huckabee Nature Center

The 1st grade at East Pointe went to the Janet Huckabee River Valley Nature Center on Good Friday this year. Hannah wanted us to come along so Isaac and I met her class there. It was pretty difficult with him since he is too big for a stroller and too little to want to pay attention. I ended up chasing him around and not getting to spend any time with Hannah. However, Hannah seemed ok with that. I got a few pictures but not many.

Here is Isaac laughing at the ducks splashing in the water. He loved them!

Here is Hannah learning about rocks and fossils. She tells me her favorite part of school is science and math. I hope she continues to love both of those subjects....her mommy hated them with a passion!

They made fossils with playdough.

Love this girl!

The kids were asked to look around and see if they could find the animals that had been hidden. It showed the kids how well the animals blend in with their surroundings.

Overall we had a good time. It was pretty hot (especially when you are trying to contain a 3 year old by carrying him around!) but the kids seemed to have a wonderful time. I had packed Isaac a lunch because the plan was to go to Ben Geren for lunch and playtime with Hannah. However, our plans changed. Isaac and I ran some errands and went home while Hannah got to go have lunch and play with her friends at the park. She was happier this way.....Isaac was getting on her nerves!
